Parks and Woodlands
Pontyclun is quite blessed with some lovely countryside with great opportunities to wander across fields and into woodlands using our footpath network
We also have some beautiful public parks and woodlands
Pontyclun Park – Pontyclun Park is owned and managed by Pontyclun Community Council. Located in the heart of Pontyclun this is a great space to play and enjoy the fresh air.
You will find a playground here and also the Pontyclun Community Garden
Ivor Woods – Ivor Woods is owned and managed by Pontyclun Community Council. This wood is shown on maps of the early 1800s so is over 200 years old and full of a great variety of trees including Oaks, Ash, Beech and Sycamore. There are various paths and benches to sit on.
The outside of the wood has the most variety of trees with the central area mainly Ash trees whose age suggests they were planted sometime between the two world wars
Riverside Walk – The Riverside walk is owned and managed by the Community Council. This beautiful path follows the Ely River for about half a mile along a tree lined path.
Windsor Fields – situated behind Pontyclun Rugby Club this park includes a large playground and the Rugby Club pitches
